Take your family to one of the exciting activities sponsored by the Sheridan County Fair Board and make memories that will last a lifetime!The Sheridan County Fair Board makes each event one to remember! The 2015 Sheridan County Fair, "Ridin', Rockin' & Livestockin' ", July 20-25, is a local favorite with activities for all ages. Come out and see the parade or participate in the Old Timer's Round Robin, the Barnyard Olympics, or the Tallest Corn Contest. Everyone is welcome to enter something in the Sheridan County Fair and entries showcase various talents ranging from restoring antiques to making arts and crafts. Fair patrons can stop by and support the 4-H and open exhibitors, whose work is displayed in the Exhibit Building during the Fair, or they can treat themselves to the 4-H Food Stand. Evening entertainment is sure to please with the thrills of the Sheridan County Carnival and the cowboys and cowgirls who entertain the crowd at the Fair KPRA Rodeo. In addition to fair activities, the Sheridan County Fair Board also sponsors a Demolition Derby with some crazy crashes. The Sheridan County Fair Board oversees the rental of the 4-H Building, which serves as a multi-purpose community center. Sheridan County Fair
The Sheridan County Fair provides the community together with fun-filled activities and exhibits sponsored by the Sheridan County Fair Board. The Sheridan County Fair is at the end of July every year.

2016 Dates: July 18-23, 2016

4-H and Open Fair

    Friday Night of Fair Week 6:30 pm. Contact RaeAnn Farber 657-1441 for Parade and Float information.

  • Contact Laurie Farber at 675-1451 to reserve Booth Space in the 4-H Building. Reservation deadline is the Friday before Fair Week.
  • Barnyard Olympics
  • Friday 3pm at the Fairgrounds Covered Arena. Sponsored by 4-H Senior Members.

  • Wednesday 3pm at the Covered Arena
  • Livestock Sale
  • Saturday 10am at the Covered Arena
  • Old Timer's Round Robin (Held every other year)
  • The Old Timer's Round Robin is open to any previous showman and will be judged by the 4-H winners of the youth Round Robin. Come out and see if you still have what it takes to show horses, steers, pigs, sheep and goats! May the best showman win!

Fair Rodeo
Friday & Saturday nights / 8:00 pm

  • Spectators: Adults $10 / Kids $5
  • 2 nights of KPRA action (NSRA, MSRA, CePRA, and CPRA approved)

Demolition Derby
The Demolition Derby is fun filled entertainment where the best drivers in Western Kansas go head to head to find out which will be the last car running.

Fair Board Meetings:  2nd Wednesday of each month at the 4-H Building / 7:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. during Summer)

Sheridan County Fairgrounds Location:
Northeast of Highway 24 and Highway 23 Intersection

Hours: Open and covered arenas are open for community use, but public events must be approved by Sheridan County Fair Board. 4-H Building – open only during events.


4-H Building is available for rent:

  • Meetings, events, auctions, family reunions, weddings, & more
  • Contact:  Laurie Farber regarding Fairground Maintenance and Building Rental (785-675-1451)
  • View Rental Agreement
  • Rental fees are set by the fair board and should be made payable to Sheridan County Fair Board

Fee for reserving the building for set-up or clean-up is $25/day, with an additional charge of $50/day if air conditioning is used. This includes sales, wedding dances, garage sales, etc.
