Originally opened in the late 1920s, known as Grainfield I.G.A, it was most recently purchased in 2008 by Dan Godek and his wife Nicole, a Grainfield native. This family-owned grocery store offers the amenities of the city in a small town environment. Harvest Market provides many traditional and unique services. The clean and friendly atmosphere makes shopping enjoyable. Guy Windholz, a Kansas Department of Agriculture, Food, Drug, and Lodging Surveyor commented, "Harvest Market is the neatest store I’ve ever visited and the cleanest in Kansas today." It is easy to see why "The Community Comes Together…at Harvest."

Our History:
  • The grocery store originated in the late 1920s as the creation of Ig Brungardt
  • A second owner, William Dreher, continued the tradition for nearly a decade
  • Purchased in the late 1940s by Joseph Dinkel Sr., when it became Dinkel Food Store
  • Inherited in 1964 by Rudolph Dinkel
  • Robert and Kathy Hartman took over and dubbed it The Store in 1996
  • Exciting changes and improvements took shape in 2008 when current owners Dan & Nicole Godek took the helm. The addition of energy efficient equipment, new product lines and expanded services now provide Grainfield and Gove County residents the fresh, fun and “green” shopping experience they’ve been searching for.
